Immigrants Vote Campaign to be Launched Soon!
Join a winning team. Campaign Coordinator position available immediately!
HAUP is one of four community-based organizations to be awarded a small grant by the NY Immigration Coalition to lead a voter education and registration drive over the next 5 months. Through the Immigrant Votes Campaign we seek to register hundreds of New Americans of Haitian and Caribbean origin, and drum up support for energetic and sustained civic participation.
To carry out this campaign, we need to assemble a team quickly. We seek to hire immediately a Campaign coordinator and recruit volunteers to work with us for the next 5 months, starting in early July.
Campaign Coordinator Needed!
The Campaign Coordinator should have a demonstrated experience in community organizing and voter registration drive, ability to lead and manage volunteers, work well in an office environment, hold himself or herself to high standards of professionalism, and be technologically proficient. The Campaign coordinator will earn a stipend of between $850 – $1,000/month.
We need a dozen volunteers!
This campaign will offer volunteers the opportunity to develop organizing skills, deepen their knowledge and commitment of immigrants and new Americans in New York City and gain a unique perspective on ways and means to achieve impacts that matter.
Speaking and writing abilities in a language other than English (e.g fluency in Haitian Creole or French) are desirable.
How to apply:
Candidates for the Campaign Coordinator and volunteer positions are strongly encouraged to send in letters of interest, including their resume and qualifications as soon as possible to Jocelyn McCalla at firstname.lastname@example.org.
