HAUP has over the years established and maintained a trusting relationship with the community, and it is well known throughout, that HAUP always has its best interest at heart. In the years since it was founded, HAUP has consistently assisted immigrant and refugee families and individuals to meet their needs and become productive citizens. HAUP is governed by a Board of Directors and Advisory Council - both are very involved in the progress and growth of our programs.

The Executive Board, Finance, Planning & Development, and Public Relations Committees meet monthly, and the whole Board meets every other month to review policies, programs, goals, financials, progress, etc. The organization’s Board of Directors and staff reflect the demographics of the population we serve. The staff speaks English, Creole, French, and limited Spanish. The Board and staff are very familiar with the target population and ensure that culturally and linguistically sensitive programs are developed and implemented.
