I am a third year student at CUNY Law School and an intern in the school’s Immigrant and Refugee Rights Clinic. A group of students in the Clinic is interested in assisting Haitians with obtaining TPS (Temporary Protected Status) visas. We are contacting you to see if Haitian-Americans United for Progress would be interested in hosting us to offer this free service to members of your community.

We are currently receiving training to assist Haitians with TPS applications and would work under the supervision of our clinic supervisors, who are practicing attorneys. All we would need from your organization would be assistance with publicizing the event and possibly a space to hold the event.

Please let me know if you would be interested or if there are other ways we as law students could assist your community. We are very sorry for the loss that you are experiencing as a result of the earthquake last week and we look forward to helping in this capacity.
