The Certified Elites

The HAUP/189 basketball team, recently renamed as The Certified Elites, took on their first-ever Championship Game on February 22nd.

The passion, dedication, hours, and loyalty to the sport of basketball and after school, brought these young students together. The love for our program & Basketball created another home for the boys within HAUP. Not to mention, it has created family and brotherhood despite their grade and age.

These 15 boys managed to take on leadership roles, own up to their mistakes, and call each other out when one messed up, but all in all formulated a team that communicates, respects and loves each other.

As it was an exciting game for them as well as the all female management team (Coach Janiyah, Coach Tatiana, Coach Mejari), all their supporters, family, and myself, they managed to WIN THE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 41-35.

With their hard work, dedication, persistence, perfect attendance, and traveling with me at 7am every Saturday morning leading to the championship and ultimately winning the game, we thought it would be best to celebrate by taking them out for a Saturday evening dinner in the City.

Thanks again for the support and allowing us the opportunity to make this possible.
